Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya - Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are fully residential, co-educational schools affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi having classes from 6 to 12 standard. Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous Organization under the ministry of HRD, Government of India, manages these Vidyalayas. Admission to these Vidyalayas is through a test called JNVST to Class VI. Children are predominantly from rural areas (75% reservation for Rural children) and there is 30% reservation for girls. Quality modern education with a strong component of culture, promotion of National Integration through student migration between Hindi speaking and Non-Hindi speaking states and following a three language formula with vernacular as medium of instruction up to Class-VIII are some of the salient features of this unique educational venture. There are at present 595 Vidyalayas spread in 27 states and 7 Union Territories.
